Ingredients

  • 2 carrots sliced
  • 2 celery stalks chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 cups cooked shredded chicken rotisserie works great—FYI, shortcut approved
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup milk or half-and-half
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper don’t be shy here
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for thickening
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ¾ cup milk
